DAY 2: FULL DAY TRIP GOLDEN CIRCLE
Explore the site and be awed by its majestic landscapes and attractions:
Geysir Geyser - watch powerful streams of water emerge from the earth’s molten core. Venture into Iceland’s starkly beautiful interior of rugged peaks, pastures and volcanic plains.
Golden Circle - have a sightseeing route that showcases three of Iceland’s most spectacular natural wonders.
Thingvellir National Park - a region of untouched beauty grounded in ancient history.
Gullfoss waterfall - a double-tiered falls where if you’re lucky, you can witness one of one of the famous rainbows views formed in the mists.
Geothermal region of Geysir - known for its hot springs and geysers.
bubbling pools and steam vents – lay eyes on Strokkur, a waterspout that shoots to around 98 feet (30 meters) in the air.
DAY 3 AND 4: HUNT FOR THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
Dress warm, and get ready to lay eyes on the northern lights. Know the science behind the natural phenomenon as you drive deeper into the dark of the Icelandic night.
The lights are at their most frequent in late autumn and winter/early spring. Between the autumn equinox and spring equinox (15 September – 15 April),
However, the weather is also of importance, and September, October and November tend to be wet and snow-less in the north.
From December the weather dries up, and there is normally plenty of snow. If you come in December or January, you experience the polar nights with atmospheric evenings and very short days.
February and March are the months where the days are longer and you see more of the snow-clad landscapes during daytime while the evenings offer greater chances of spotting the northern lights.
Note: Seeing the northern lights cannot be guaranteed. Some weeks, you are treated to fantastic displays, repeated several times during the evening.
Other times, the snow falls densely, or the northern lights simply stay away. Naturally, the longer you stay and the more time you set aside, the better the odds.
DAY 5: BLUE LAGOON GEOTHERMAL SPA EXPERIENCE
Enjoy the passing scenery at Blue Lagoon and choose from the menu of bathing options, from private baths to water massage.
The stunning geothermal lagoon, glimmering among the snow and lava fields, stays at a constant toasty temperature of 96-102 degrees Fahrenheit (36 to 39 degrees Celsius), and is an otherworldly shade of blue.
The water contains blue-green algae, mineral salts and silica, and has been known to work wonders on problem skin and tired muscles. The blue - green alga softens and nourishes skin, the mineral salts detoxify the body and the white silica mud exfoliates the skin.
Take as much time as you like relaxing and enjoying in one of Iceland's most famous natural wonders. Afterwards, travel to Reykjavik.
DAY 6: GREAT DRAMATIC LANDSCAPES OF ICELAND
This scenic trip includes a stop at two waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Snap photos of Sólheimajökull glacier and Eyjafjallajökull volcano, and search for puffins along the black-sand beaches of Reynisfjara.
En route, get a taste of traditional Icelandic snacks: smoked lamb on flatbread accompanied by a tbeverage.
There will also be a stop for lunch before drop-off back at your hotel.
DAY 7: REYKJAVIK CITY TOUR
Board the mini bus and learn about the history and culture of Iceland's capital city.
Hofdi House - in northern Reykjavik.
Hallgrimskirkja - the largest church in Iceland and one of its tallest structures
University of Iceland area and the old town center - where the Icelandic parliament Althingi and the town hall are situated.
Perlan building - built on water tanks that hold the city's hot water supply. Here you can enjoy the spectacular view over Reykjavik and its surroundings from Perlan’s top-floor revolving restaurant.
